Established in 1987, DARA - Chapter 56 of Romance Writers of America® - is a non-profit, voluntary association of writers dedicated to raising and maintaining quality in the romance genre and its sub-genres. DARA works to accomplish this through advocating high professional standards and through the dissemination of information on writing and the publishing industry.

DARA meets the 4th Saturday of every month January through October. We meet at Collin College Courtyard Center, 4800 Park Preston Blvd, Plano, TX Room 214 9:30am-1200pm. All are invited for Lunch Afterwards at TGIFridays, 2444 Preston Rd, Plano 75093. The holiday meeting is the 1st Saturday of December and the location varies. This year we will be meeting at the Richardson Civic Center located at 411 W Arapaho Rd, Richardson Texas.

Visitors are welcome, must be at least 18 years old, and may attend up to two meetings before joining DARA. To join DARA, you must be a member in good standing of RWA.
